Mass gatherings have the potential for serious public health consequences if they are not planned and managed carefully.
The following directions for gatherings are now in effect in across INDIA:
- Organizing, attending or allowing of non-essential outdoor mass gatherings of 10 or more people is prohibited.
- Organizing, attending or allowing of non-essential indoor mass gatherings of 10 or more people is prohibited.
Kindly recall queries raised by states on organizations of mass gathering etc. In the view of the above, it is highlighted that:
- Expert across the world has the advice to reduce the mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel coronavirus diseases. In view of the above, it is advisable that mass gatherings may be avoided or possibly be postponed until the disease spread is contained.
- In case any such mass gatherings are organized, the state may take necessary action to guide the organizers on precautions to be taken as per the risk communication material already sent so as to avoid any Severe scute Respiratory illness (SARI) cases and influenza Like illness (ILLs) including COVID-19.
States may take necessary action accordingly in the matter.
